Copper is used extensively in products, such as:
- Electronics – including copper wire, electromagnets, electrical relays, electrical switches, and integrated circuits.
- Structural Engineering
- Household products – including copper plumbing fittings and tubes, doorknobs, roofing, cookware, and flatware.
- Coinage
- Biomedical applications – Since bacteria will not grow on copper surfaces because it is biostatic, hospitals use copper doorknobs to reduce the transfer of diseases.
- Musical instruments
